Main Tasks on Project
  • Worked with team in Pre-Production to quickly prototype mechanics and pipelines, helping us discover and document the best practices for our team. 

  • Used agile project management methodology to plan and schedule team member's work. 

  • Worked with team to set up and maintain a communication plan between all core team members and collaborators. 

  • Organized and facilitated multiple playtests, worked with team to collate data and prioritize new tasks to be agilely added to the project's schedule. 

  • Effectively communicated with team's game play programmer to ensure that programming methodologies and structure was properly followed in both the UI and gameplay.

High Work Effort Motivates Others

  • ​Worked in the engine, and closely with team throughout the entire two months of production.

  • By working in the engine this gave the team confidence that I was up to date on where the project was at. 

  • Overall, this resulted in the team being more open to letting me know what their thoughts were on the project and how I could best help them with their work.

Hands on Project Management

  • This proved both a strength and weakness for me for the production of my project.

  • It allowed me to effectively help the team on any part of the project that was behind ensuring that the project stayed on schedule.

  • However, this did increase my workload drastically. Leading to me working long hours, and getting exhausted quickly.

  • Overall, this was a great learning outcome for me as I was able to better understand how much extra work I should take on and when.

Use of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid Project Management

  • I was able to fully learn the different parts of a project that it is appropriate to use each project management style. 

  • This was mainly learnt through feedback and post postmortems with the team I was working with to discover the best practices for our team. 

  • I was also able to effectively learn what project management softwares worked best for each of the project management styles. 

  • Overall, Powerbound proved very beneficial for me in learning a variety of project management styles and what ones work best for myself and the different teams I am on.
